These physiological changes affect macrophages, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, mast cells and nerve conduction rates. After treatment, there is a measurable increase in enzymes and neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, that proves LLLT has had physiologic effect. Also, measurable changes in blood flow occurs.

The American Veterinary Lasers use light in the infrared spectrum that has been shown to have the greatest depth of tissue penetration.
